Kathy Hochul saying he had revoked federal approval for the program that charges drivers to enter Manhattan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/pix11.com\/news\/local-news\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:More Local News;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\"> More Local News <\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The MTA immediately took the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/nyc-congestion-pricing-huge-success-222459022.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:Trump administration;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Trump administration<\/a> to court to keep the tolling program alive. Judge Lewis Liman on Tuesday ruled that Duffy could not unilaterally revoke permission, meaning congestion pricing can proceed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cThe Defendants\u2019 termination of the [program] was unlawful, and that any attempt to enforce the February 19 Letter \u2026 would be unlawful,\u201d Liman wrote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">New York officials celebrated Liman\u2019s decision after a long battle with the federal government.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/pix11.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:More: Latest News from Around the Tri-State;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\"> More: Latest News from Around the Tri-State <\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cThe judge\u2019s decision is clear: Donald Trump\u2019s unlawful attempts to trample on the self-governance of his home state have failed spectacularly. Congestion pricing is legal, it works, and it is here to stay,\u201d Hochul said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Congestion pricing went into effect on Jan. 5, 2025.
