{"id":151570,"date":"2026-03-03T21:17:12","date_gmt":"2026-03-03T21:17:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/151570\/"},"modified":"2026-03-03T21:17:12","modified_gmt":"2026-03-03T21:17:12","slug":"big-victory-for-new-york-in-congestion-pricing-lawsuit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/151570\/","title":{"rendered":"Big victory for New York in congestion pricing lawsuit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CITYWIDE \u2014 JUDGE LEWIS LIMAN of Federal District Court in Manhattan on Tuesday ruled against the Trump administration\u2019s attempt to end New York\u2019s congestion pricing program, handing a victory to the New York State Metropolitan Transportation Authority and other plaintiffs in their  <a href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.nysd.637159\/gov.uscourts.nysd.637159.195.0.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">lawsuit<\/a> against Secretary of the Department of Transportation Sean Duffy and various federal agencies.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve said it all along, and Judge Liman\u2019s clear, detailed ruling leaves no doubt: Congestion pricing is legal. It\u2019s  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mta.info\/press-release\/statement-mta-chair-and-ceo-janno-lieber-opinion-and-order-us-district-judge-lewis-j\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">here to stay<\/a>. And it works,\u201d MTA Chair and CEO Janno Lieber said in a statement immediately following the ruling. Lieber added, \u201cTraffic is down, business is up, and we\u2019re making crucial investments in a transit system that moves millions of people a day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gov.
