{"id":151730,"date":"2026-03-03T23:31:32","date_gmt":"2026-03-03T23:31:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/151730\/"},"modified":"2026-03-03T23:31:32","modified_gmt":"2026-03-03T23:31:32","slug":"news-12-the-bronx-369","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/151730\/","title":{"rendered":"News 12 | The Bronx"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new face is representing District 13 in the Bronx, but some constituents say they have yet to see her.<\/p>\n<p>Council Member Shirley Aldebol, who defeated incumbent Kristy Marmorato in November by a slim margin, is now settling into her office on Williamsbridge Road. Before her City Council run, Aldebol spent nearly three decades leading one of the nation&#8217;s largest property service workers unions.<\/p>\n<p>In a sit-down interview with News 12, Aldebol said her priorities include affordability, public safety and quality-of-life issues.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;People want to be able to afford to live here. People want to have a good job so they can sustain their families. People want to live in a clean environment. They want their streets to be safe,&#8221; Aldebol said.<\/p>\n<p>News 12 has received calls from residents who say they&#8217;ve tried to contact her office and haven&#8217;t heard back.<\/p>\n<p>Aldebol responded to those claims, saying, &#8220;I am here for the community. I&#8217;ve been meeting with people throughout the district, with different civic organizations. I&#8217;ve gone to tenant meetings, and I will continue to do so.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Some people say they are looking for action.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Find more work for the population.
