On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at approximately 1406 hours, New York City Police Department<\/a> (NYPD<\/a>) police officers responded to a signal of a male, shot at E. 183rd Street and Hughes Avenue, within the confines of the 48th Precinct in the Bronx.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival, officers observed a 19-year-old male, unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest.<\/p>\n

EMS responded and transported the aided male to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.<\/p>\n

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.<\/p>\n

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
