{"id":153163,"date":"2026-03-05T00:39:14","date_gmt":"2026-03-05T00:39:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/153163\/"},"modified":"2026-03-05T00:39:14","modified_gmt":"2026-03-05T00:39:14","slug":"news-12-the-bronx-377","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/153163\/","title":{"rendered":"News 12 | The Bronx"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Police say a 19-year-old was killed during a shooting in Belmont.<\/p>\n<p>Lamar Simmons, of the Bronx, was shot in the chest near East 183rd Street and Hughes Avenue, blocks away from his home, just after 2 p.m. Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>EMS took Simmons to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died, according to authorities.<\/p>\n<p>Police are searching for at least three men who they say are responsible for the shooting.<\/p>\n<p>One man was last seen wearing a blue hoodie with white lettering, a black jacket and white sneakers.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities say the second man was observed in a red sweater, black jacket and white sneakers.<\/p>\n<p>The third was dressed in a black jacket, gray sneakers and a black mask.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Police say a 19-year-old was killed during a shooting in Belmont.
