A state judge just nixed a Columbia board\u2019s discipline of the \u201cpro-Palestine\u201d students who occupied and trashed Hamilton Hall <\/a>two years ago, completing the university\u2019s elaborate dance with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg to ensure the goons would suffer no consequences for their noxious actions.<\/p>\n

Bragg\u2019s office dropped charges against the students back in June 2024, citing its \u201cunderstanding that the students would be subject to Columbia\u2019s internal disciplinary proceedings.\u201d<\/p>\n

The school then took a year to actually deliver on that \u201cunderstanding,\u201d<\/a> albeit with little more than wrist-slaps \u2014 whereupon the snowflakes sued to reverse this \u201coppression.\u201d <\/p>\n

And on Tuesday, a state judge threw out the rulings of the disciplinary board, inventing an absurd Catch-22 to protect the vandals.<\/p>\n

You see, Columbia used the students\u2019 arrest records to prove they took over Hamilton Hall and caused major damage \u2014 but the judge insists that evidence is no good because the records were subsequently sealed. <\/p>\n

Talk about collusion: The DA\u2019s Office did nothing to stop the arrest records from being sealed, no matter that the school might need them to discipline the students who rioted, took over Hamilton Hall, beat up two janitors and seriously vandalized the building.<\/p>\n

Columbia didn\u2019t try to keep the records unsealed, either.<\/p>\n

The university, sniffs Judge Gerald Lebovits, can restart the discipline proceedings; it just can\u2019t use the NYPD\u2019s list of who was arrested.<\/p>\n

But the occupiers were masked and covered up the security cameras inside Hamilton Hall, so there\u2019s no other way to ID the culprits.<\/p>\n

This reeks: It\u2019s obvious that no one in authority here \u2014 from Bragg to Columbia\u2019s leaders<\/a> to Judge Lebovits, who is a professor at Columbia \u2014 really wanted these rioters to face any consequences for their actions. <\/p>\n

How else to explain why they keep passing the buck back and forth?<\/p>\n

So a bunch of spoiled brats who terrorized Morningside Heights for months, setting up encampments and harassing Jewish students before occupying a university building, are laughing as they walk away.<\/p>\n

What lessons will they learn? That in New York you can pretty much do whatever you want, if you also shout \u201cFree Palestine!\u201d or some other leftist shibboleth.<\/p>\n

Just don\u2019t dare to defend yourself or others from a deranged individual threatening violence: Bragg calls that \u201cvigilante justice\u201d and enforces a zero-tolerance policy.<\/p>\n
