Brooklyn Beckham<\/a> was reportedly left \u201cdisheartened\u201d after his parents David and Victoria publicly wished him a happy birthday<\/a> despite an alleged agreement that communication should take place privately.<\/p>\n

The aspiring chef turned 27 on Wednesday, with the former England football captain and fashion designer both sharing throwback photographs and affectionate messages on Instagram to mark the occasion.<\/p>\n

However, the posts were said to have frustrated Brooklyn, who is currently estranged from members of his family<\/a>.<\/p>\n

An insider told Enterainment Tonight that Brooklyn and his wife, actress Nicola Peltz<\/a>, viewed the tributes as \u201cperformative\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cBrooklyn and Nicola are disheartened they chose to make public Instagram posts for his birthday,\u201d the source said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese are the exact type of performative public actions that Brooklyn has been trying to put an end to, to no avail.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast summer they issued a legal letter to his parents requesting that any correspondence go through lawyers<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Victoria, 51, David, 50, and Brooklyn\u2019s brothers Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 21, all shared heartfelt birthday messages for the eldest Beckham child on social media.<\/p>\n

But Brooklyn did not publicly acknowledge any of the tributes.<\/p>\n

Instead, he spent the day celebrating with Nicola<\/a>, 31, who shared a series of posts marking her husband\u2019s birthday.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou light up every room you walk into and anyone who knows you loves you\u2026 you\u2019re the most special human and I love being your wife. I love you I love you I love you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brooklyn responded in the comments, writing: \u201cI love you baby girl.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nicola also shared a video showing Brooklyn blowing out candles placed on top of a box of doughnuts as she encouraged him to make a wish.<\/p>\n
