The sun may set a bit later now, but that doesn\u2019t make the upcoming twilight concert by members of the Con Brio Ensemble any less magical.<\/p>\n
Three of the group\u2019s musicians will return to Forest Hills\u2019 Church-in-the-Gardens at 4:30 p.m. March 15, when guests can experience selections by the dynamic trio of pianist Diana Mittler-Battipaglia, cellist Hamilton Berry and violinist Emilie-Anne Gendron.<\/p>\n
The entrancing program will include Robert Schumann\u2019s Trio in D minor and romantic Fantasy Pieces for cello and piano, as well as Maurice Ravel\u2019s Sonata for violin and cello.<\/p>\n
Mittler-Battipaglia, a co-founder of the Con Brio Ensemble, is a music professor and choral director at CUNY Lehman College in the Bronx, where the group is in residence. She holds bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees from the Juilliard School of Music, as well as a doctorate from the Eastman School of Music.<\/p>\n
In addition to the Con Brio Ensemble, now in its 46th season, Berry is a member of the Grammy-nominated PUBLIQuartet, Toomai String Quintet and Orchestra of St. Luke\u2019s. He, too, has a master\u2019s in music from Juilliard.<\/p>\n
Gendron, who holds a bachelor\u2019s in classics from Columbia University and a master\u2019s from Juilliard, belongs to the Grammy-winning Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the Momenta Quartet, the Marlboro Music Festival and Musicians from Marlboro.<\/p>\n
Admission to the concert is free, but donations will be accepted. The Church-in-the-Gardens is at 50 Ascan Ave., just three blocks south of Queens Boulevard.<\/p>\n
