The Mamdani administration is hosting its second round of \u201cRental Ripoff\u201d hearings in Long Island City, following last week\u2019s session in Brooklyn<\/a>.<\/p>\n What You Need To Know<\/p>\n Thursday night\u2019s hearings take place in Long Island City, Queens at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. More than 200 residents attended the Brooklyn hearing, sharing stories of unheated apartments, broken plumbing and ongoing maintenance issues.<\/p>\n Housing advocates had raised concerns that the city’s public housing tenants were being overlooked, but the city says all residents are welcome to testify tonight.<\/p>\n Both sessions in Queens \u2014 at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. \u2014 are full, but tenants can still submit complaints online<\/a>.<\/p>\n City Hall says the information collected at these hearings will help shape Mayor Zohran Mamdani\u2019s forthcoming housing plan.<\/p>\n The next public hearings will take place in Fordham in the Bronx on March 11, East Harlem on March 28 and North Shore on Staten Island on April 7.<\/p>\n
