If you have gone to the gas pump, you probably noticed that gas and oil prices have changed since the War in Iran.

With this in mind, AAA has been following the price changes and compiled data to determine the average prices and how much they have jumped.

Crude oil prices have “climbed sharply” for a second straight day Tuesday, according to AAA. The barrel is up to to $74.56 — more than $3 per barrel compared to the day before.

Since the conflict in the Middle East, shipping oil worldwide has proven to be a bit more difficult as well given the instability in the region. For example, since Monday, according to AAA, there has been no oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz — a passageway for one-fifth of the world’s oil supply.

According to AAA, the iranian attacks on oil and gas infrastructure, including Saudi Arabia’s largest refinery, have added to production and supply concerns.

TIPS TO SAVE ON GASOLINE

AAA shared some tips for drivers to save on gas, including:

Shop around for the best prices. Don’t wait until you’re on empty, which might force you to fill up at a more expensive station (like rest stops or stations right off the highway).

Slow down. Increasing speeds above 50 mph, aerodynamic drag causes fuel economy to drop off.

Know which fuel you really need. AAA research has found that unless premium fuel is recommended or required by your vehicle’s manufacturer, it adds no benefit.

Many gas stations offer discounted prices for drivers who use their app or other rewards program.

[6
26815,14670,9,11,10,21770,41575
post-154507","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-new-york","tag-commuter-alert","tag-iran","tag-new-york","tag-new-york-headlines","tag-new-york-news","tag-oil-gas","tag-oil-and-gas
["GET
