FORDHAM, The Bronx (WABC) — An NYPD officer was injured after being struck in the head with an object in the Bronx on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The incident happened just before 5:30 p.m. at the Fordham Road subway station in the Fordham section.<\/p>\n

Officials say police located a 41-year-old man that was wanted for an assault that happened earlier in the day around noon at East 157th Street and Gerard Avenue.<\/p>\n

As officers approached the man, the suspect threw an unidentified object that struck the officer in the head.<\/p>\n

The officer was taken to the hospital with a minor laceration.<\/p>\n

No arrests have been made.<\/p>\n
