They started their morning on Queen&#8217;s Beach with a 4-1 defeat of UNC Wilmington (2-5) before earning the sweep of San Jose State (3-5).<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height:1.3800000000000001;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;\">The Waves snapped their three-game losing streak in a victory over the Seahawks that saw the team only relent one point. The first flight of <a href=\"https:\/\/pepperdinewaves.com\/sports\/womens-beach-volleyball\/roster\/emma-eden\/5603\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5603\" target=\"_blank\">Emma Eden<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/pepperdinewaves.com\/sports\/womens-beach-volleyball\/roster\/michaela-cyrani\/5625\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5625\" target=\"_blank\">Michaela Cyrani<\/a> were put on watch early, but took their first set 22-20. UNC Wilmington was held below 19 points in seven of its ten sets.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height:1.3800000000000001;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;\">Next up was San Jose State. Despite the Spartans best efforts to keep it close, Pepperdine won the affair 5-0. <a href=\"https:\/\/pepperdinewaves.com\/sports\/womens-beach-volleyball\/roster\/emma-bubelis\/5602\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5602\" target=\"_blank\">Emma Bubelis<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/pepperdinewaves.com\/sports\/womens-beach-volleyball\/roster\/deanie-woodruff\/5611\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5611\" target=\"_blank\">Deanie Woodruff<\/a> won the thriller on court five to keep SJSU out of the point tally. Initially falling behind 16-21, they won the second set in extras 22-20 before eking out the 16-14 nailbiter in set three. <a href=\"https:\/\/pepperdinewaves.com\/sports\/womens-beach-volleyball\/roster\/alice-jagielska\/5626\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5626\" target=\"_blank\">Alice Jagielska<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/pepperdinewaves.com\/sports\/womens-beach-volleyball\/roster\/sonia-mancuso\/5629\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5629\" target=\"_blank\">Sonia Mancuso<\/a> also needed the tie-breaker\u2014winning 15-11 on court three.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height:1.3800000000000001;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pepperdinewaves.com\/sports\/womens-beach-volleyball\/roster\/maddy-snow\/5627\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5627\" target=\"_blank\">Maddy Snow<\/a> took to the sand wearing an unfamiliar jersey number of 15, but her play was anything but. Her partner, <a href=\"https:\/\/pepperdinewaves.com\/sports\/womens-beach-volleyball\/roster\/gabbie-perez\/5609\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5609\" target=\"_blank\">Gabbie Perez<\/a>, along with flights 1, 3, and 4 won each of their matches today in just two sets. Joining the WCC ahead of the 2016 season with the sport becoming NCAA-sanctioned, the Waves won the inaugural and first three WCC Championships while reaching eight straight conference championship games from 2016-24.
