Damon Chronis<\/p>\nDallas-based tax services and software firm Ryan said Thursday it has acquired Hucke and Associates, a property tax consulting firm based in New York City.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Financial terms of the deal weren\u2019t disclosed. Joining Ryan are Hucke and Associates owners Peter Hucke, Stephen Hucke, and Devon Shapiro. Hucke and Associates team members will continue serving clients as part of Ryan\u2019s growing property tax practice.<\/p>\n
This is Ryan\u2019s second M&A deal of 2026. The firm acquired Meritax Advisors, a commercial property tax consulting firm with offices in Frisco and Austin, TX, last month. Ryan also announced in January that it received a minority private equity investment from a group led by Neuberger Berman Capital Solutions.<\/p>\n
Ryan says the acquisition of Hucke and Associates strengthens its property tax capabilities and enhances the firm\u2019s ability to support commercial real estate owners with complex property tax challenges across major markets.<\/p>\n
Founded in 2001 by Peter Hucke, Hucke and Associates is a boutique property tax firm that focuses exclusively on property tax appeals and valuation advocacy. The firm advises owners and developers across a broad range of property types, combining deep assessment expertise with hands-on, results-driven representation.<\/p>\n
Hucke and Associates\u2019 capabilities align with Ryan\u2019s services, including:<\/p>\n
Property tax appeals and valuation advocacy.<\/p>\n
Pre-acquisition analysis and tax projections.<\/p>\n
Negotiation of assessed values with taxing authorities.<\/p>\n
Exemptions and incentive-related property tax relief.<\/p>\n

The firm\u2019s depth across hospitality, office, retail, industrial, and multifamily properties complements Ryan\u2019s existing property tax capabilities, officials say.<\/p>\n
