NYPD detectives have identified the stabbing suspect who wounded a cop pursuing him<\/a> at a Bronx subway station, police said Friday.<\/p>\n

Sergio Santiago, 41, chucked a hard object at an officer when the cop and his partner approached him at the mezzanine at the B\/D Fordham Road subway station<\/a> near E. 188th St. in Fordham around 5:20 p.m. Thursday, cops said.<\/p>\n

The cop \u201csuffered a laceration to his head,\u201d the NYPD announced on X as they posted Santiago\u2019s mugshot, asking for the public\u2019s help in tracking him down.<\/p>\n

It was not immediately clear what was thrown at the officer.<\/p>\n

The wounded officer\u2019s partner rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital<\/a>, where he was treated for a minor wound.<\/p>\n

Santiago ran out of the station and remained on the loose Friday.<\/p>\n

He had been identified as a suspect \u201cwanted for questioning\u201d for an earlier stabbing when the officer approached him, cops said.<\/p>\n

In that incident, Santiago was accused of stabbing a man near the corner of E. 167th St. and Gerard Ave. in Concourse shortly after 12 p.m. \u2014 about two miles from the subway stop, cops said.<\/p>\n

The victim was taken to BronxCare Hospital Center in stable condition for a non-life threatening wound. Since then, he\u2019s refused to cooperate with police, according to a law enforcement source.<\/p>\n

Santiago was last seen wearing a black jacket, grey sweatshirt, blue jeans and black and white sneakers, cops said. He\u2019s been arrested six times since 2023 for assault, resisting arrest and robbery, as well as few violations, such as turnstile jumping.<\/p>\n
