\n\tThursday\u2019s tenth annual Love Rocks NYC benefit concert<\/a>, featuring Paul Simon<\/a>, Mary J. Blige, Hozier, Elvis Costello, Jon Batiste, Mavis Staples, Nile Rodgers & Chic and more, raised over $6 million for the God\u2019s Love We Deliver charity, raising the total the concerts have raised to more than $65 million.<\/p>\n

\n\tAlso performing at the event were Bill Murray, Billy F. Gibbons, Goo Goo Dolls, Joe Bonamassa, Linda Perry, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Susanna Hoffs, Trombone Shorty and Warren Haynes, with JB Smoove, Jeff Ross, Julianne Moore, Paul Shaffer, Whoopi Goldberg and Zarna Garg also hosting.<\/p>\n

\n\tGod\u2019s Love We Deliver has served more than 40 million meals since it was founded during the AIDS pandemic in 1985, and currently addresses 200+ diagnoses with its medically tailored meals and nutrition services.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cVolunteering with God\u2019s Love We Deliver is an experience that will stay with you forever,\u201d said President and CEO Terrence Meck. \u201dBecause understanding what we do \u2013 and why we must exist- is very simple. Life is precious. Most likely everyone in this theater tonight has loved someone who\u2019s been sick. And I think we can all understand what it feels like to be overwhelmed and scared. And when that happens to our vulnerable neighbors and they call on God\u2019s Love We Deliver, We Show Up. And with your help, New Yorkers who need our services \u2013 will never face illness alone.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOver the course of the evening, Simon performed \u201c50 Ways to Leave Your Lover,\u201d \u201cStill Crazy After All These Years,\u201d and \u201cThe Boxer\u201d while Costello delivered \u201cPump It Up\u201d and \u201cPeace, Love and Understanding,\u201d\u00a0 and joined Staples, Haynes and Hozier for a version of the Band\u2019s classic \u201cThe Weight.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHozier played \u201cTake Me to Church\u201d with Ryan Connors and the Joe Cocker\/Traffic classic \u201cFeelin\u2019 Alright\u201d with Nile Rodgers and Mary J. Blige delivered \u201cOne\u201d and \u201cFamily Affair.\u201d\u00a0 Rodgers & Chic returned for \u201cGood Times\u201d and \u201c We Are Family.\u201d<\/p>\n
