Nicola Peltz Beckham <\/a>is looking forward \u2014 not back \u2014 amid her husband Brooklyn Beckham<\/a>\u2019s ongoing family drama.<\/p>\n

While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter <\/a>on Thursday, March 5, Nicola, 31, was asked how she\u2019s \u201cnavigated\u201d the attention on the familial estrangement.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been editing my next film [Prima] for the past two and a half weeks. So honestly, I\u2019ve been in the editing room,\u201d Nicola told the outlet. “We haven\u2019t had weekends. We\u2019ve just been trying to make a deadline [for submission to Cannes].\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cIt\u2019s been so amazing to just put my focus on that and be creative. It\u2019s been really fun doing that, and I\u2019m really excited for it to come out.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cActing is definitely my first passion,\u201d Nicola gushed to THR of choosing her favorite hobbies between performing and directing. \u201cI\u2019ve been in love with it since I was 11, but I really love being a part of storytelling in every way, and I love being a part of the process of creating it before an actor comes on. Hopefully I\u2019m lucky enough to be a part of that process more.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for her personal life, Nicola married Brooklyn, 27, in 2022 that soon sparked a rift with his famous family. (Brooklyn is the eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, who share Romeo, 23, Cruz, 21, and Harper, 14.)<\/p>\n

\u201cMy parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn\u2019t stopped,\u201d Brooklyn alleged in a January social media statement<\/a>, stating that he does \u201cnot want to reconcile\u201d with his relatives. “I\u2019m not being controlled, I\u2019m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201c[I] have found peace and relief. My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press or manipulation. All we want is peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.\u201d<\/p>\n

David, for his part, shared via his page, \u201cHappy Birthday Bust. Love you x,\u201d referring to the father-son pair\u2019s \u201cBuster\u201d nickname.<\/p>\n
