The New York Giants<\/a> made another big splash in free agency, adding to an opening day full of them. RT Jermaine Eluemunor<\/a> is returning to New York on a three-year, $39 million deal with $26 million in guaranteed money, according to ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m back,\u201d Eluemunor tweeted after the news broke<\/a>, throwing in a blue heart emoji to show his love to the Giants<\/a> faithful. After signing a modest one-year deal with the Giants<\/a> last year, he put together an excellent season and provided stability at right tackle New York hadn\u2019t had in years.<\/p>\n

Now, he\u2019s back in New York on a three-year deal to continue his solid run at right tackle.<\/p>\n

Jermaine Eluemunor Provides Major Relief to the New York Giants\"Jermaine\"Jermaine<\/p>\n

Without Eluemunor in the fold, the Giants<\/a> had a major hole at right tackle. Andrew Thomas<\/a> is one of the best left tackles in the game, but he\u2019s only one man, and he can only play one position. For years, the rest of the Giants\u2019 offensive line has been an issue, but Eluemunor finally fixed their right tackle problems in 2025.<\/p>\n

Getting him back in 2026 and beyond is huge news for New York. The interior of their offensive line is still a question mark \u2014 there\u2019s a reason the Giants were rumored to be in the mix to sign C Tyler Linderbaum<\/a> \u2014 but at least their tackles are set for the next few years. With the growth of some young players, this could be a quality offensive line in no time.<\/p>\n

In particular, C John Michael Schmitz Jr.<\/a> and OT Marcus Mbow<\/a> have promising futures. A fifth-round pick out of Purdue last year, Mbow played tackle in college and filled in there last season due to injuries, but he projects to the interior in the NFL<\/a>. Schmitz is a true center who got off to a slow start but got a lot better last season.<\/p>\n

The Giants will be counting on those two players continuing to improve and grow with the rest of the unit to put together a strong offensive line in 2026.<\/p>\n

What Will the Rest of the New York Giants\u2019 Offseason Look Like?<\/p>\n

Now that Eluemunor is back in the fold, what else do the Giants need to do? With a new head coach in John Harbaugh, expect to continue seeing a busy offseason in New York.<\/p>\n

Specifically, the Giants could look to add some bodies in the secondary. They\u2019ve already addressed needs at tight end and linebacker<\/a> (as well as punter, actually) but the secondary (cornerback especially) could use some attention.<\/p>\n

Perhaps this is an area the Giants look to attack in the draft. New York has the No. 5 overall pick and there is no shortage of defensive talent in this class. They could also look to add a receiver, if they wanted to \u2014 the Giants have a lot of options with that pick.<\/p>\n
