The New York Giants<\/a> and free agent tight end Isaiah Likely agreed to terms on a three-year deal on Monday.<\/p>\n

Here are five things to know about the newest Giant.<\/p>\n

Fourth-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2022<\/p>\n

Likely was selected out of Coastal Carolina with the 141st pick in Round 4 of the 2022 NFL draft. He was seen as an under-the-radar pick coming out of the FBS. The Cambridge, Massachusetts, native was a two-time, first-team, All-Sun Belt selection and a second-team All-America choice in 2021.<\/p>\n

Ideal size\/speed combination for an NFL tight end<\/p>\n

At 6-foot-4 and 245 pounds, Likely, who started playing football at the age of four, fits the prototypical size for a tight end desired by NFL teams. Although he was timed in the 40-yard dash at 4.80 seconds during his pro day in 2022, his game speed is fine, and he can get separation with no issues.<\/p>\n

Was a productive No. 2 tight end with Ravens<\/p>\n

Likely was a complementary tight end to Mark Andrews in Baltimore who played in 63 games (starting 26) in his four years as a Raven. He caught 135 of 194 targets for 1,568 yards and 15 touchdowns. He became the second-fastest Ravens tight end (34 games) to reach double-digit receiving scores in a career, behind only Andrews (28 games)<\/p>\n

A well-rounded tight end<\/p>\n

Likely is an asset as a pass catcher and a red-zone threat, but is a solid run blocker as well. Last season, Likely blocked for an offense that ranked No. 1 in the NFL in yards per rush (5.3), second in rushing yards per game (156.6), and third in rushing TDs (23).<\/p>\n

Reuniting with Harbaugh and Roman in New York<\/p>\n

Likely might be switching teams, but he’ll feel right at home as his former head coach and offensive coordinator — John Harbaugh and Greg Roman — are running the show with the Giants now. The coaches will likely use Likely in a 12-personnel alignment with their other young stud tight end, Theo Johnson.<\/p>\n
