QUEENS (WABC) — This morning, a Queens courtroom will be packed with family, friends and fellow officers of slain NYPD Detective Jonathan Diller, who was shot and killed during a traffic stop that turned deadly.<\/p>\n
Suspected killer Guy Rivera, 34, was indicted on first-degree murder, attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon charges in the fatal shooting of Diller.<\/p>\n
Rivera pled not guilty to charges of first and second degree murder.<\/p>\n
He faces up to life in prison without the possibility of parole if convicted.<\/p>\n
The shooting happened in Far Rockaway, Queens, during a traffic stop on March 25<\/a>.<\/p>\n Police say Rivera was in the passenger seat of a car when he pulled a gun and shot Diller, 31, through the window. He was shot in the back by Diller’s partner.<\/p>\n Prosecutors said he then “attempted to cause the death of Sgt.
