Vivian Kollenscher, Jay Chagrin, Aaron Halpern, Jeffrey Greener, Linda Cheung, Andrew Bloom<\/p>\n<p>Long Island Press archives<\/p>\n<p>Three villages in Great Neck will hold elections on Wednesday, March 18 \u2014 the Village of Thomaston, the Village of Kensington and the Village of Saddle Rock.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Polls in all three villages will be open from noon to 9 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Saddle Rock is the only village holding a contested election. Voting will take place at Village Hall \u2014 18 Masefield Way in Great Neck.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.longislandpress.com\/2026\/03\/02\/saddle-rock-election\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Saddle Rock<\/a>, incumbent Mayor Dan Levy, Village Justice Julia Gavriel and trustees Dan Chadow and Alex Kishinevsky were seeking reelection to four-year terms but were disqualified after their petitions were challenged.<\/p>\n<p>The Nassau County <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nassaucountyny.gov\/566\/Board-of-Elections\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Board of Elections<\/a> found that six of eight pages of petition signatures lacked a witness signature.<\/p>\n<p>Under the Friendly Neighbors Party, Kambiz Akhavan is running for mayor, and Joshua Rabanipour and Kousha Askari are running for trustee.<\/p>\n<p>Current Trustee Robert Kraus, the only incumbent who was not disqualified, is running for mayor under the Together for a Better Saddle Rock slate.<\/p>\n<p>Martine Alter and Vivian Kollenscher are running for trustee under the Concerned Residents of Saddle Rock banner, and Sigalit Sanilevich is running to complete the final two years of a four-year term under the Tree Keeper slate.<\/p>\n<p>Kraus, Alter, Kollenscher, and Sanilevich are campaigning together despite running on separate slates.<\/p>\n<p>No one is registered to run for village justice, so a write-in campaign is expected.<\/p>\n<p>In the Village of Thomaston, incumbents are the only candidates running. Trustee Aaron Halpern and Trustee Jay Chagrin are each running for reelection to two-year terms. Voting will take place from noon to 9 p.m. at Village Hall, 100 E. Shore Road, Great Neck.<\/p>\n<p>In the Village of Kensington, incumbents are also running unopposed. Mayor Jeffrey Greener, Trustee Linda Cheung and Trustee Andrew Bloom are each running for reelection to two-year terms. Village Justice Richard Kestenbaum is also running for another four-year term. Voting will take place from noon to 9 p.m. at Village Hall, 2 Nassau Drive in Great Neck.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Top (L. to R.)
