A 38-year-old man crashed his SUV into three parked cars after he was shot to death in Brooklyn early Tuesday, police<\/a> said.<\/p>\n

The victim was shot in the chest and arm on Ocean Drive near Surf Ave., a dead-end block leading to Coney Island\u2019s Riegelmann Boardwalk, about 1:30 a.m., cops said.<\/p>\n

Police canvassing the area found the victim behind the wheel of a gray Chevrolet Equinox with a Florida license plate that sideswiped three vehciles before coming to a stop outside the Coney Island Houses<\/a>, about a block from where the shooting was reported.<\/p>\n

The vehicle\u2019s passenger window had been shot out.<\/p>\n

The victim died at the scene on W. 35th St. and Surf Ave. His name was not immediately released.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just came outside and saw this and I was shocked. It\u2019s just unfortunate,\u201d Aura Rodriguez told the Daily News Tuesday as she looked over her damaged silver Chevrolet Cruze. \u201cCops didn\u2019t give me information. They just said they will contact me. Right now I just have to stay put.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe car is just parked where it should be and this happens,\u201d added Rodriguez, 59. \u201cI don\u2019t know if this guy was being chased or what.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another woman\u2019s Honda Accord was damaged in the crash.<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t believe it was my car,\u201d the owner said, declining to be named. \u201cIt\u2019s crazy hearing that someone was killed but you get desensitized to stuff like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Police learned of the shooting through the NYPD\u2019s ShotSpotter system<\/a>, a network of 2,000 sensors around the city, mostly in high crime areas, designed to pick up the sound of possible gunfire.<\/p>\n

No arrests have been made. Cops were scouring the area for surveillance video<\/a> that could help them identify any suspects.<\/p>\n
