The frantic parents of an alleged ISIS-loving<\/a>\u00a0wannabe terrorist said they had no idea he was part of a bomb plot at Gracie Mansion and feared he may have killed himself when he fell out of touch Saturday.<\/p>\n

Teen Ibrahim Kayumi\u2019s disappearing act prompted his mother to file a missing-person report Saturday, with her telling cops at the time that she last saw him at roughly 10:30 a.m. in their lavish suburban Pennsylvania home<\/a>, prosecutors revealed Monday in court documents.<\/p>\n

The missing-person report came as the 19-year-old Kayumi\u2019s puzzled panicked family also searched parking lots for him, his father Khayer Kayumi told told the New York Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ibrahim Kayumi, 19, uncharacteristically fell out of touch with his parents before he allegedly took part in a failed bomb attack outside Gracie Mansion, according to a report and prosecutors. Lone Pine Press for NY Post<\/p>\n

\u201cIf he\u2019s going to be 5 minutes late, he calls,\u201d the dad told the outlet.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe he had killed himself,\u201d the father said the family thought when Ibrahim failed to show at the house. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe didn\u2019t know what was going on.\u201d<\/p>\n

A clearly rattled Khayer briefly spoke to The Post on Monday, and when asked if there were any signs of his son\u2019s radicalization, responded, \u201cI don\u2019t talk with my son at all. <\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know. Attorney is working on him. Thank you,\u201d the dad said before hanging up.<\/p>\n

As Kayumi\u2019s family frantically looked for him Saturday, the teen was riding in a car with Emir Balat, 18, crossing the George Washington Bridge en route to Manhattan as part of a heinous plot, prosecutors and cops said.<\/p>\n

The pair of teens \u2014 whom sources said had self-radicalized and taken on the hateful ISIS cause \u2014 showed up outside an anti-Islam protest near Gracie Mansion thrown by clownish right-wing bigot Jake Lang.<\/a><\/p>\n

Video showed Balat hurling a homemade bomb and receiving another IED from Kayumi, prosecutors alleged. Both bombs fortunately failed to detonate.<\/p>\n

Investigators alleged the devices were packed with an explosive material known as \u201cMother of Satan\u201d favored by terrorists.<\/p>\n

Cops \u2014 including NYPD Chief Aaron Edward, who dramatically leapt into action<\/a> over a barricade \u2014 arrested Balat and Kayumi. The teens both later allegedly admitted to harboring radical Islamist motives.<\/p>\n

Balat chillingly said he hoped the failed attack would be deadlier than the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, prosecutors alleged.<\/p>\n

When Kayumi was asked why he did it, he simply said, \u201cISIS,\u201d court documents state. He also copped to watching Islamic State propaganda, the documents alleged.<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth in the country as well as throughout the West, younger and younger individuals are radicalizing and mobilizing violence, and this is taking place against the backdrop of social media dynamics of online culture, not limited to ISIS across the ideological spectrum,\u201d said Rebecca Weiner, the NYPD\u2019s deputy commissioner of intelligence and counterterrorism, Monday.<\/p>\n

Kayumi\u2019s family came from Afghanistan and were naturalized between 2004 and 2009.<\/p>\n

Balat\u2019s parents are naturalized US citizens who immigrated from Turkey.<\/p>\n

The teen duo, who are both US citizens, face federal charges of providing material aid to ISIS.<\/p>\n

Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Tuesday condemned the teens\u2019 alleged extremism.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think, first and foremost, just to make it clear to everyone that extremism and hatred of any kind will not be tolerated in our city, and that is regardless of whatever ideology motivates any person to commit an act of violence,\u201d he said. \u201cThere is no tolerance for it here.\u201d<\/p>\n

The feds raided the homes of both Balat\u2019s and Kayumi\u2019s families in Bucks County, Pa., NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said Monday.<\/p>\n

They also searched a storage unit<\/a> in Pennsylvania allegedly linked to the pair, where they found more homemade explosive devices \u2014 which were detonated safely, sources said.<\/p>\n
