SL Green and Daniel Boulud have doubled down on their longtime close relationship<\/a>, with the city\u2019s largest commercial landlord purchasing the chef\u2019s flagship restaurant property.<\/p>\n

SL Green, led by CEO Marc Holliday, bought the nearly 16,000-square-foot condo space of Restaurant Daniel at\u00a0 60 E. 65th St. for $18.5 million, according to public records posted this week.<\/p>\n

But that doesn\u2019t portend any changes at the Michelin-starred eatery, as Boulud\u2019s Dinex Group immediately signed a 20-year lease with its new landlord.<\/p>\n

The deal gives Dinex extra dough to help pay for its ongoing expansion \u2013 including in Hong Kong, where the chef just launched Terrace Boulud at the Mandarin Oriental hotel, and in London, where his new Cafe Boulud is to open later this year at the Waldorf Astoria \u2013 Admiralty Arch.<\/p>\n

An ebullient Boulud told The Post by phone from Hong Kong, \u201cAs Restaurant Daniel enters its fourth decade, the most important thing for me is that it stays strong, relevant and continues to reinvest in its future. This is a positive transaction that allows us to do exactly that with our trusted partner\u00a0SL Green.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dinex CEO Sebastien Silvestri added the sale helps his company focus on its \u201ccore restaurant business\u201d which in New York also includes Caf\u00e9 Boulud at Maison Barnes, Le Gratin and a large\u00a0brasserie set to open soon near the Lincoln Center.<\/p>\n

SL Green executive vice-president Brett Herschenfeld said the acquisition \u201cdeepens the company\u2019s investment\u201d in the Upper East Side community and \u201cbuilds upon its already successful ventures with Boulud.\u201d<\/p>\n
