Police arrested and charged a Brooklyn man with attempted murder for allegedly shoving two other men onto the tracks at an Upper East Side subway station this week, NYPD officials said.<\/p>\n
Bairon Hernandez, a 34-year-old Sunset Park resident, was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon in the same police precinct where the shovings occurred<\/a>, officials said. He is also facing assault and reckless endangerment charges in connection with the incident, which police said happened at the 63rd Street\u2013Lexington Avenue stop on the F and Q lines around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.<\/p>\n Police said Hernandez first came up behind a 30-year-old man on the southbound platform and pushed him onto the tracks, then did the same to an 83-year-old man standing nearby. Both victims were taken to NewYork-Presbyterian\/Weill Cornell Medical Center, with the younger man in stable condition and the older man in critical condition, authorities said.<\/p>\n Hernandez\u2019s attorney information was not yet available early Wednesday. Police said he fled the scene after the shovings, which they described as unprovoked.<\/p>\n
