St. Patrick\u2019s Day is next week and with that comes the time-honored tradition of New York City\u2019s massive St. Patrick\u2019s Day Parade. Thousands of Irish-American New Yorkers (and Irish at heart) are expected to gather along Fifth Avenue to celebrate the 265th edition of this parade.<\/p>\n
Here\u2019s what you need to know about the parade.\n<\/p>\n
When is it?<\/p>\n
The St. Patrick\u2019s Day Parade takes place on March 17, rain or shine, and will be stepping off at 11 a.m. It ends at approximately 4:30 p.m.\n<\/p>\n
Where will the parade take place?<\/p>\n
The parade will start on Fifth Avenue at 44th Street and then will march up Fifth Avenue to 79th Street.\n<\/p>\n
Who is this year\u2019s Grand Marshal?<\/p>\n
The grand marshal this year is Robert James \u201cBob\u201d McCann, Co-Chairman of NewEdge Capital Group and owner of Forest Creek Golf Club.\n<\/p>\n
How can I watch?<\/p>\n
The best place to watch the parade is on Fifth Avenue itself, but you\u2019ll want to get there early to snag a good viewing spot. If you aren\u2019t able to make it in person or want to avoid the crowds, the parade will be livestreamed on the St. Patrick\u2019s Day Parade website<\/a>,\u00a0NBC New York<\/a>, YouTube, Roku, Samsung TV Plus, Xumo and PlayCozi.<\/p>\n What should I wear to the parade?<\/p>\n The temperature is supposed to be a bit chilly on Tuesday, so plan accordingly. Either way, you\u2019d definitely fit in with your fellow parade-goers by putting on your best green clothes, lest you be pinched!<\/p>\n Are there going to be portable restrooms near the parade route?<\/p>\n Nope! So plan accordingly.\n<\/p>\n
