The New York Giants received good news from linebacker Micah McFadden on Wednesday. The linebacker believes his foot injury will be a thing of the past this spring.

“Doing great. I’ve improved a lot, even since the end of the year. But getting hurt in game one, you have a lot of time to recover after that,” he told reporters on Wednesday. “And like I said, working with the Giants and getting back to a place where I was able to go back home and kind of start my normal off-season program, working out and running and doing everything I need to do to play football this year.

“I don’t think I’ll have any limitations.”

McFadden agreed to return to the Giants on a one-year deal worth up to $5.75 million in free agency on Tuesday after receiving interest from multiple teams.

“It was kind of my first process or first time through this process; it was definitely different for me. But, yeah, there was some conversations going on, and there was some other possibilities,” he said. “But I had spoke with the coaching staff and some people in the building over the weekend, and I knew that there was a possibility that they wanted me back, and I was excited to hear that from them.

The 26-year-old missed all but one of the Giants’ 17 regular-season games in 2025 due to a foot injury sustained in the season opener against the Washington Commanders.

Before the season-ending injury, the Florida native had recorded four sacks, one interception, and five fumble recoveries across 30 games played (28 starts) for New York from 2023-24.

McFadden has been a critical part of the Giants’ defense since being drafted by New York with the No. 146 overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft. His self-appraisal serves as a positive update in his rehab process.
