Randall Manor Tavern has built its reputation on comfort food, conviviality and cold beer including those from local Flagship’ Brewing Co.(Staten Island Advance\/Pamela Si<\/p>\nSTATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Randall Manor Tavern in West Brighton will serve its final meal at its longtime 735 Castleton Avenue location this Sunday, Oct. 26 2025 before shutting its doors to prepare for a move.<\/p>\n
The popular neighborhood bar and restaurant isn\u2019t going away for long. Plans call for reopening at a new, expanded location on November 4 at 382 Forest Avenue, where patrons can expect chef Steve Rowan\u2019s signature comfort food alongside new additions. Co-owner Steve Noss said his business partner, John Venturella, will also be in the kitchen, preparing pizzas and fresh house-made pastas.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s shifting from just being the bartender to playing a key role in producing the daily specials and tweaked menu,\u201d Noss said.<\/p>\n
Carrie Gaeta, a longtime bartender at Randall Manor Tavern since its inception, has also joined as a partner. She will oversee day-to-day operations at the new location.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll be doing the regular menu for the next two days,\u201d Noss said of the final weekend at the current location. Wings, burgers, and other pub grub will be available through closing.<\/p>\n

For those wanting one last visit to the original spot, the restaurant and bar will be open until 4 a.m. Sunday morning, and will reopen Sunday at 11 a.m., running until the last customers leave.<\/p>\n
Forest Avenue Expectations <\/p>\n
The new space, former home to Liberty Tavern, has undergone extensive renovations over a two-year period. \u201cYou\u2019d think we were building the Taj Mahal,\u201d said Noss. \u201cThe renovation process was extensive. We ended up gutting the whole place \u2014 electric, plumbing, every single appliance is brand new, everything from grease traps to walk-in freezers to the air conditioning system.\u201d<\/p>\n
When it reopens, the restaurant will feature 75 indoor seats with outdoor space for an additional 50 guests. Hours at the new location will be 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., with outdoor seating closing at 10 p.m. \u201cso neighbors don\u2019t get bothered.\u201d<\/p>\n

The expanded space will include a party room with barn doors that can be closed for private events and its own entrance. \u201cWe have garage doors that go up to the street,\u201d Noss added. Natural light through the front windows will brighten the space during the day, while evenings will offer a cozy vibe.<\/p>\n
While maintaining beloved comfort foods, the menu at the new location will add offerings including thin-crust pizza and homemade pasta made with a machine imported from Italy. \u201cWe\u2019re not looking to put out 100 things,\u201d Noss said, emphasizing a focus on consistency.<\/p>\n
Rich Staten Island history<\/p>\n
The Castleton Avenue location has a rich history on the North Shore. Before becoming Randall Manor Tavern, the premises at 735 Castleton was known as Chic\u2019s, and later as Roscoe\u2019s. <\/a>Before the restaurants, the address neighbored an Acme and Chicken Delight. Chef Rowan has been a constant through some of those changes, having worked at the location when it was Roscoe\u2019s under Pete Roskiwinski.<\/p>\n As prior Advance\/SILive.com reports have noted, Rowan has become known for his \u201cmouthwatering grilled burgers and roast beef platters with mashed potatoes and saut\u00e9ed spinach,\u201d and has been a neighborhood fixture particularly during snowstorms when locals can simply walk to the establishment.<\/p>\n \u201cWe usually are busy because the people can walk here \u2014 I, being one of those people,\u201d Rowan once said, explaining that he lives just a few blocks away. \u201cSnow days are always good days.
