AccuWeather<\/a> meteorologists said the rapidly strengthening storm will sweep across much of the country from the Rockies to the East Coast through Monday. How strong will winds get in NYC?<\/p>\n

A wind advisory<\/a> is in effect for New York City, southern Westchester County and Long Island, according to the National Weather Service<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Forecasters say south winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are possible through late Monday as the storm system moves through the region.<\/p>\n
