A man was charged in the Midtown Manhattan accident that killed<\/a> actress Wenne Alton Davis<\/a> \u2014 whose credits include an appearance in \u201cThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel<\/a>,\u201d cops said Monday.<\/p>\n

Bronx resident MD Abdul Shomuz, 62, was issued a desk appearance ticket for failure to yield to a pedestrian, a misdemeanor, for the fatal collision Dec. 8, 2025, according to law enforcement.<\/p>\n

The 60-year-old victim, whose real name is Wendy Davis, was crossing Broadway at W. 53rd St. when Shomuz\u2019s black Cadillac XT6 SUV slammed into her about 9 p.m., cops said. Davis suffered a massive head injury and was rushed to\u00a0Mount Sinai West<\/a>, where she died. He\u00a0remained at the scene.<\/p>\n

Davis appeared in a number of featured roles including a cop in Amazon Prime\u2019s hit series \u201cThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel\u201d and a driver in the NBC shows \u201cBlindspot<\/a>\u201d\u00a0and \u201cNew Amsterdam<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The victim\u2019s IMDB<\/a>\u00a0lists 10 credits, starting with a role in the 2004 short film \u201cLadies Room<\/a>\u201d and including a part in the 2011 Michael Fassbender drama \u201cShame<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The North Carolina native came to New York in her 20s and started out as a stand-up comic before crossing over to acting. She also worked at JFK Airport as a federal Customs and Border Protection officer, colleagues said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can only describe Wenne Davis as a bright light,\u201d Jamie Harris, senior vice president of Clear Talent Group, the agency that represented Davis, said in a statement. \u201cShe had a huge love for New York, for acting, for her colleagues at JFK and, most of all, her family and her circle of friends, which was also huge.\u201d<\/p>\n

When she wasn\u2019t acting, Davis enjoyed boxing and hockey and was a member of the\u00a0JFK Customs\u2019 hockey squad<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis heartbreaking loss is felt deeply across our entire JFK Customs family,\u201d the hockey team said on Instagram. \u201cThis tragedy has been felt throughout our brother\/sisterhood.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davis was going out to meet a friend for dinner and a movie when she was hit.<\/p>\n

Davis had recently returned from a trip visiting her mother, father and sister in Iowa, according to her friend. She moved to his building in Forest Hills with her cat, Roxie, about five years ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe got close because we always used to run into each other in the hallway,\u201d he said. \u201cWe used to go out for dinner. We\u2019re all single.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was very driven, compassionate, giving,\u201d he added. \u201cI will miss her smile, laugh and joie de vivre.\u201d<\/p>\n
