KINGSBRIDGE, the Bronx (PIX11) \u2014 An off-duty NYPD officer is suspected of shooting a 30-year-old man<\/a> in the head in the Bronx Monday night, according to police and sources.<\/p>\n

The detective fired two shots while the victim was in a car near 167 West 231st St. in Kingsbridge at around 9:15 p.m., according to the NYPD and sources.<\/p>\n

The off-duty officer, who is assigned to the Intelligence Division, was possibly responding to a stolen vehicle when he got into a fight with several men, sources said. The cop then fired his weapon.<\/p>\n

Authorities found the 30-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head, police said. The victim went to the hospital via private means and remained in critical condition as of Tuesday.<\/p>\n

There have been no arrests.<\/p>\n

The NYPD\u2019s Force Investigation Division is handling the case.<\/p>\n
