{"id":167518,"date":"2026-03-18T18:41:09","date_gmt":"2026-03-18T18:41:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/167518\/"},"modified":"2026-03-18T18:41:09","modified_gmt":"2026-03-18T18:41:09","slug":"antisemitic-brute-accused-of-slugging-nyc-rabbi-skips-court-date-prompting-arrest-warrant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/167518\/","title":{"rendered":"Antisemitic brute accused of slugging NYC rabbi skips court date, prompting arrest warrant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An antisemitic thug charged with randomly slugging a rabbi in a Queens subway station is now a wanted man after skipping out on his arraignment.<\/p>\n<p>Eric Zafre Grosso, 32, was due in court to face <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/01\/28\/us-news\/stranger-pummels-rabbi-after-sneering-f-k-jews-in-hate-fueled-nyc-attack\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">hate crime assault charges<\/a> Wednesday in the unprovoked January attack \u2014 but ended up named on an arrest warrant after blowing off the proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was released on supervised release and the most recent \u2026 report says they have not heard from him or had any contact since Feb. 2,\u201d Judge Germaine Auguste said in court.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.50367107;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"38820396\" width=\"887\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/eric-zafra-grosso-32-stranger-123916041.jpg\" alt=\"Two police officers arresting a man on a subway.\" class=\"wp-image-38820396\"  \/>Eric Zafra Grosso, 32, was charged with punching a rabbi in an antisemitic attack in January. Queens Shomrim<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen was the last time you had any contact with your client?\u201d she asked Grosso\u2019s lawyer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJan. 28,\u201d the attorney said.<\/p>\n<p>Auguste then issued a bench warrant for Grosso to be busted and hauled back to court.<\/p>\n<p>Police said Grosso walked up to the victim near Queens Boulevard and 71st Avenue around 2 p.m. on Jan. 28, snarled, \u201cF\u2013k Jews,\u201d and slugged the rabbi in the chest in an unprovoked attack.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:0.87597656;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"38820403\" width=\"517\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/eric-zafra-grosso-32-stranger-123916037.jpg\" alt=\"Two police officers next to a police vehicle, one holding a bag labeled &quot;Two Cupcake Situation.&quot;\" class=\"wp-image-38820403\"  \/>Grosso failed to show up in Queens court and is now wanted on a warrant.
