Meanwhile, temperatures climb well above freezing in southern Vermont, keeping the primary precipitation type as rain.Plan for snow-covered roads and tough travel Friday evening, especially north.In northern spots, a widespread 2 to 4 inches is expected. Roads will initially be wet, but will turn slushy closer to sunset.Southern Vermont will see mainly rain, with little to no accumulation expected along and south of Route 4.Weekend \u2022 Staying UnsettledTerrain-based snow showers break out Saturday morning on the heels of a northwest breeze.
