despite living half a mile off Edgewater\u2019s coastline<\/a>, has been repeatedly woken up by the middle-of-the-night raves.<\/p>\n\u201cIt sounds like it was coming from a street over! I thought, \u2018Oh, they must be people playing music in the parking lot of the nearby apartment building\u2019 \u2026 When the police told me they\u2019ve gotten 100 reports and it\u2019s coming from New York, I was honestly flabbergasted. I couldn\u2019t believe it because it sounded like it was coming from right outside my window.\u201d<\/p>\n
Neighbors first experienced the thunderous music on a Saturday night back in October, with residents telling The Post the music kicked off around 11:30 p.m. and lasted until 5 a.m.<\/p>\n
The issue seemed to be a one-off \u2014 until it returned in February for four consecutive Saturday nights.<\/p>\n
Edgewater cops blamed the noise on Skinny\u2019s Cantina on the Hudson, but the club has been closed for months. Skinny\u00e2s Cantina On The Hudson \/ Instagram<\/p>\n
The noise raged on from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m., resulting in hundreds of complaints to Edgewater cops for \u201cloud music coming from NYC,\u201d the department said in a statement.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was so loud, it sounds like a concert outside. My husband even went outside because it was so loud but we couldn\u2019t see anything,\u201d said one neighbor, who declined to share her name.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m exhausted. I\u2019m pissed the next morning \u2026 I have two young kids, and I have a 6-month-old so I\u2019m just exhausted.\u201d<\/p>\n
Edgewater cops told The Post that the NYPD tracked the noise down to Skinny\u2019s Cantina on the Hudson in West Harlem, a Mexican nightclub directly across the water from the New Jersey town.<\/p>\n
Skinny\u2019s Cantina On The Hudson is approximately one mile from Edgewater and separated by the river. Google Maps<\/p>\n
The lounge, however, has been shut down since the New Year after it was sold to a new owner.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s been zero activity there,\u201d Joseph\u00a0Licul, the prior owner of Skinny\u2019s, told The Post.<\/p>\n
The NYPD would also not confirm whether they had identified any other source of the noise despite claims by the Edgewater cops.<\/p>\n
Exhausted Edgewater residents were relieved to enjoy a silent Saturday last week, but the breakdown in communication between the departments is leaving them with little hope that their peace will last. <\/p>\n
\u201cEvery time I call [the NYPD], they\u2019re like, \u2018Okay, we\u2019re going to go check it out,\u2019 but they\u2019re like, they don\u2019t sound too sure. It\u2019s like the first time they\u2019ve heard of this, right? They\u2019re clueless,\u201d one neighbor said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBetween the Edgewater police and NYPD, no one\u2019s doing anything about it.\u201d<\/p>\n
