Eighty pothole repair crews were making their way through the five boroughs Saturday morning, fixing dents and holes in the streets after more than 7,000 potholes were repaired last weekend, according to the Department of Transportation.<\/p>\n
DOT said crews filled 7,200 potholes during last weekend\u2019s pothole blitz, and the work continued into the week, reaching one of the longest-standing potholes at Adee Avenue and Bouck Avenue. NYC data shows service requests for that pothole dating back to Jan. 2010.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis pothole comes back like a bad rash every year, no matter how many times they fill it,\u201d said neighbor Frederick Bratton, who lives across the street. He said it was filled Friday but believes the repair won\u2019t last long. \u201cBy the summertime it\u2019ll probably sink in again,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
DOT said crews have filled more than 66,000 potholes this year. Neighbors who notice dents or craters forming in their streets are advised to submit a 311 complaint.
