NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) \u2013 International travel to New York City<\/a> dipped in 2025, but it wasn\u2019t as bad as expected, according to New York City Tourism + Conventions.<\/p>\n

The city saw a 3.2% drop in international travel last year compared with the year before, a decrease of over 400,000 visitors.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn 2025, New York City\u2019s tourism economy<\/a> proved resilient despite global challenges,\u201d said Julie Coker, President of NYC Tourism. \u201cThe international visitor market is crucial to our economy, accounting for 50% of tourism spending.\u201d<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t all bad news. Even with the dip, visitors spent more when they visited, totaling over $55 billion, Coker said. And, travel from three countries increased to New York City: Mexico, Italy and the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n

Overall, 65 million people visited New York City in 2025, a slight increase from 2024. Most people visited New York City from the tristate area, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and Boston.<\/p>\n
