The 62-year-old man suffered a medical event while putting his Hyundai pickup truck into reverse, according to police.<\/p>\n
The crash happened at the store on Walt Whitman Road in Melville around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
A woman who works at the nearby Burlington store tells News 12 a man and his child were nearly struck.<\/p>\n
“My manager\u2019s son and grandson almost got hit by him when he was pulling out of the doors,\u201d said Eboni Holliday.<\/p>\n
The driver was taken to the hospital but was conscious and alert, Suffolk police say.<\/p>\n
