It\u2019s a bold move to relocate a brand-new business. Still, Confidant<\/a> chefs and co-owners Brendan Kelley and Daniel Grossman weren\u2019t afraid of that challenge when they moved their nine-month-old restaurant from Industry City<\/a> into Brooklyn Heights<\/a> this past February. Luckily, neighborhood change works out well for the New American restaurant.<\/p>\n

The new space feels like a cozy cabin, with brick walls lined with quirky artwork, wood-paneled ceilings, and a larger, wide-open kitchen. The expanded menu includes pastas (a first for the kitchen), rounded out by pastry chef Mariah Neston\u2019s already enticing desserts.<\/p>\n

Manager and wine director Lucy Saintcyr knows her drinks \u2014 ask for a recommendation. We shared the Domaine Rijckaert Arbois Savagnin ($83), a mineral white wine that worked well with the range of our dishes.<\/p>\n

Grab a pre- or post-dinner drink at the kitty-corner Long Island Bar<\/a>, which is the truest of truly neighborhood bars that is all at once dive-y, casual, and welcoming.<\/p>\n

The team is also opening a new bakery and pizzeria next door, Lou & Bev\u2019s<\/a>, in the spring.<\/p>\n
