Police have allegedly arrested one man after investigating a suspicious device was found in Gravesend on Wednesday. <\/p>\n

The NYPD was investigating a Gravesend co-op building Wednesday afternoon after a suspicious device was reportedly discovered inside.\n<\/p>\n

According to sources with knowledge of the investigation, a joint search warrant was issued at 2525 West 2nd Street at around 10:45 a.m. by the NYPD and a Homeland Security Investigations task force based at John F. Kennedy Airport.<\/p>\n

Authorities discovered what is being described as a \u201csuspicious device\u201d on the scene and arrested a male resident, sources said. The exact nature of the device is not yet clear, and an investigation is ongoing.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police closed<\/a> West 2nd Street between Avenue Y and Avenue Z to pedestrian and car traffic\u00a0at around 1 p.m, and advised New Yorkers to steer clear of the area. Video posted on Citizen<\/a> showed police cars, fire trucks and what appeared to be an NYPD bomb squad vehicle lining the street.<\/p>\n
