NEW ROCHELLE, NY \u2014 A Bronx man is accused of sexually assaulting a woman on a boat in the Long Island Sound. <\/p>\n
Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace announced on Wednesday that 45-year-old Carlton Bryan was charged with raping a woman on his boat docked at a New Rochelle marina in August of last year.<\/p>\n
According to the felony complaint, in the early morning hours of Aug. 4, 2025, on a boat registered to Bryan, he engaged in sexual contact with a victim who was incapable of providing consent because she was physically helpless.<\/p>\n
The victim woke up during the encounter and managed to flee, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n
Bryan was arraigned on Tuesday on an indictment charging him with felony first-degree rape; felony third-degree rape; felony first-degree sexual abuse; and misdemeanor second-degree sexual abuse.<\/p>\n
Prosecutors say that he pleaded not guilty to the charges, and is due back in court on April 7 after previously posting bail. <\/p>\n
The victim was issued a temporary order of protection.<\/p>\n
“Sexual activity without consent is a crime, one that is vigorously prosecuted by my office,” DA Cacace said. “Victims of sexual assault will always have a champion in my administration. I am so proud of the victim in this case for promptly reporting the incident to law enforcement so we could begin a thorough investigation. We will continue to support her through all phases of this process.”<\/p>\n
The investigation was conducted by the New Rochelle Police Department.
