Mason Gooding is officially three films deep into one of horror’s most beloved franchises, and if you ask him, the timing has never felt more right.

There is a reason Chad Meeks Martin stuck around. When Mason Gooding first brought the character to life in 2022’s Scream, there was an authenticity to the performance that you cannot really manufacture. He was funny, a little unpredictable, and completely at home in a franchise built on keeping audiences on their toes. Scream 7 is the film that finally shows what he is truly capable of.

Chad Meeks Martin Steps Into New Territory

The Scream 7 cast lineup is one of the strongest the franchise has put together, and the story makes good use of everyone in it. Chad Meeks Martin has a real foothold now alongside his sister, and their connection to Courteney Cox‘s Gale Weathers gives the whole thing a sense of momentum that fans of the Scream franchise are going to feel immediately.

That new professional relationship gives Chad a sense of purpose beyond just dodging Ghostface, and it opens the door to something the Scream franchise has always done best: letting its characters actually matter to each other.

Neve Campbell is also back as Sidney Prescott, and her presence carries decades of history into every scene.
