Russo to 25 years to life in state prison. The District Attorney\u2019s Office had recommended the maximum sentence of life in prison without parole.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"low\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Google Maps\" class=\"article__image-content\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/CPL7CJZP2RGKFB3KIQZ6K4I7FY.png\"  \/>The 20-year-old New Jersey resident pled guilty to first-degree murder for the February 2025 deaths caused by blunt force trauma.Google Maps<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"SAPIAET3QRBT3LMMGT5AOPJQZ4\">The killings occurred on Feb. 15, 2025, at about 6:30 p.m. at a residence on Gesner Drive in Spring Valley. Abad caused the deaths of Evelyn Aguilar-Agustin and Anabelly Aguilar through blunt force trauma.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"24PRTKEX2VH5JA7B4OFJY6MH2A\">Aguilar-Agustin died from blunt force trauma to her head, face, and abdomen. Aguilar suffered blunt force trauma to her head and upper neck, causing cervical spine fractures, brain injuries, and hemorrhages that led to her death.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"5BSNABA2G5HENJWTFCIGWDKVXM\">\u201cThe defendant brutally and senselessly murdered two women,\u201d said District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II. \u201cMy office will continue to advocate for them and seek the maximum penalty allowed under the law. I offer my sincere condolences to their family and thank my prosecutors and our law enforcement partners for their dedication and professionalism in seeking justice for the victims.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"YUH2T5YFYVDAHLD35LCDMFT5JA\">The Spring Valley Police Department conducted the investigation with assistance from the Rockland County Sheriff\u2019s Office.
