There were no injuries reported following a residential fire in the Kingsbridge Heights section of The Bronx in the early hours of Thursday, March 26, FDNY officials said.<\/p>\n

A fire department spokesperson said they received a 911 call at 1.45 a.m. for a report of a fire on the top floor of a building located at 2756 Creston Avenue, located between East 197th Street and East 196th Street.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
They said 21 units, comprising 79 fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene, there were no reported injuries, and the fire was brought under control at 2.31 a.m. They said the cause is under investigation.<\/p>\n
Norwood News has reached out to the Red Cross for details of any displaced residents following the fire and Frederic Klein, a Red Cross spokesperson, said, \u201cAfter the fire on Creston Avenue, the American Red Cross registered one adult for emergency assistance. It is our understanding that most tenants were able to reoccupy their homes. If any residents impacted by this fire need help with their recovery and have not already connected with the Red Cross, they should call us at 1-877-RED CROSS (877-733-2767) and select Option 1.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The FDNY also responded to a more serious fire in the Belmont section of The Bronx the same night. Read that story here<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n As reported<\/a>, thirteen people were reported injured following an afternoon residential fire in the Kingsbridge section of The Bronx on Tuesday, March 17, [St. Patrick\u2019s Day] in a six-building complex which houses around seven daycare centers. That incident followed another large fire, as reported<\/a>, where several small businesses were damaged on East Gun Hill Road in the Laconia section of the East Bronx on March 6. The latest fires have prompted Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson and the FDNY to launch a further series of fire education and safety workshops across the borough.<\/p>\n On March 18, Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson announced that, in conjunction with the FDNY, in response to the high number of fires experienced across the borough in recent times, fire education and safety workshops would be rolled out across the borough in the weeks ahead. \u201cWe hope that you will find the time to attend one of these important workshops for you and your family,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cFrom smoke alarm demonstrations, to common causes of fires, our community is learning emergency preparedness tips on how to stay safe and ready in any situation,\u201d she added, \u201cFind a workshop that works best for you and your family.
