A soon-to-be beach bum with the most Brooklyn accent over won over the internet with a viral a clip of him saying ICE agents were simply trying to \u201chelp\u201d the overwhelmed security lines at airports nationwide.<\/p>\n

Chris Scali\u2019s brief interview with News 12 was quickly spread online after he shrugged off lefty criticism of the federal agents\u2019 presence at Newark Liberty International Airport this week.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlright, they\u2019re good, they\u2019re here to help. They\u2019re not bothering nobody. As long as they can check my bags and get me on my flight, I\u2019m good to go,\u201d he continued, with a distinctly south Brooklyn brogue.\u00a0\u201cRight? I want to get to the Bahamas. I want out of here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Online denizens went crazy for Scali\u2019s cadence.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think stating he was from Brooklyn was not required,\u201d one noted with a smiley face.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs it sauce or gravy?\u201d another quipped.<\/p>\n

\u201cA, oh somebody get this guy a cannoli! Bravo!\u201d a third cracked.<\/p>\n

ICE agents were also on hand at LaGuardia Airport to assist with the hours-long security lines Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t mind them being here because they\u2019re here to help people and keep this line moving,\u201d\u00a0restaurant manager\u00a0Mary Bojeng, 25, said as she tried to catch a flight to Tampa.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe, you know, everybody has a right to be here. But no, they\u2019re just here helping and it\u2019s good with me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The show of support comes as Democrats have lambasted ICE\u2019s arrival at airports to help\u00a0alleviate stress on TSA agents<\/a>\u00a0who are working without paychecks due to a partial government shutdown.<\/p>\n

Mayor Zohran Mamdani\u00a0tweeted,<\/a>\u00a0\u201cICE doesn\u2019t belong at our airports,\u201d while Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner\u00a0claimed ICE<\/a>\u00a0was bothering and scaring passengers.<\/p>\n

Hundreds of TSA workers have quit while many more have called out sick, leading to unusually long security lines at major airports.<\/p>\n

Scali\u2019s interview was even shared by the Trump administration\u2019s\u00a0Rapid Response account on X<\/a>\u00a0and other supporters of the White House.<\/p>\n

Congress has been at a standstill over fully funding the Department of Homeland Security, which covers TSA, over Senate Democrats\u2019 insistence that reforms be made to immigration enforcement.<\/p>\n

Wait times persisted at LaGuardia as travelers were told by staff at Terminal B on Wednesday afternoon that they would need to trudge along for up to three hours. At one point, the line trailed out to the parking garage and airport staff was rolling out cases of water on dollies to hand out.<\/p>\n

The callout rate for TSA agents on Tuesday was a shocking 11.14%, according to the latest available figures provided by the agency.<\/p>\n

The rate at John F. Kennedy Airport was 36.8% while LaGuardia\u2019s was 17.1%.<\/p>\n

William P. Hobby Airport had the highest callout rate at 43% followed by George Bush Intercontinental Airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport at rates of 39.8%, 36.6% and 35.6% on Tuesday, according to TSA.<\/p>\n

One flyer who travels a lot said at LaGuardia Wednesday morning the lines were still the \u201cworst I\u2019ve seen in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n
