The team behind Williamsburg\u2019s Baba<\/a> (47 Withers St.) is opening a new Southern-inspired restaurant called Ferguson\u2019s Country<\/a> (732 Lorimer St.).<\/p>\n

Gabriella Mann and her partner are opening the new Southern spot this spring at the address that was most recently home to Mousey Brown Salon.<\/p>\n

Ferguson\u2019s Country is a departure from Baba, a French wine bar with a small cocktail menu and bites from Marseille, Mann\u2019s grandmother\u2019s hometown.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mann told Greenpointers that her partner is from Alabama, so the new concept is \u201cloosely inspired by him, the food he grew up with, and a cuisine that\u2019s deeply delicious, yet underrepresented in Brooklyn.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt still carries the Baba spirit\u2014relaxed, approachable, and rooted in a feeling of home\u2014while layering in Southern hospitality and rustic warmth that naturally align with the sense of joie de vivre that you\u2019ll find at baba,\u201d Mann said.<\/p>\n

The menu at Ferguson\u2019s Country will offer traditional Southern cuisine like shrimp and grits and cornbread. Plus, the newcomer will have an entire list dedicated to moonshine.<\/p>\n

Mann is aiming to open Ferguson\u2019s Country by late May, but that may change.<\/p>\n
