\n\tDespite two runners in scoring position in the top of the first, Mount St. Mary’s was unable to generate any runs to kick the game off.
\n\tIn the following inning, the Mountaineers scored on a fielder’s choice to break the ice and lead early 1-0.\u00a0
\n\tWalks from Kendall Penny<\/a> and Natalye DeBus<\/a>\u00a0served as the lone baserunning opportunities for the Jaspers spread across the second and fourth innings.\u00a0
\n\tBrianna Estevez’s<\/a> two-out bunt single in the sixth was the first hit on the board for the Green and White, but still left nothing on the scoreboard to show for it.
\n\tWith The Mount since bringing home another run to serve as insurance, Manhattan opened the bottom of the seventh with two singles from Lainey Brown<\/a> and Penny.\u00a0
\n\tFollowing a Kaitlyn Moody<\/a> walk which loaded the bases, a throwing error after a batted ball from Jamie Falotico<\/a> scored Brown as an unearned run with two outs, cutting the deficit to only one.\u00a0
\n\tSophia Hannappel<\/a> was called on to pinch hit for the home team, but a foulout\u00a0swiftly ended the matinee in favor of the visitors.\u00a0

\n\tContrary to game one, the nightcap saw more trading of blows between the two programs.
\n\tAfter a scoreless opening inning, a sacrifice fly brought the first score of the game home for the Mountaineers.
\n\tIn the bottom half, Moody singled up the middle to bring Brown to the plate, knotting the score at one-all after two innings of play.
\n\tLater in the fourth, Mount St. Mary’s hit a two-run RBI double to go up 3-1 after four.
\n\tIn the sixth, Penny’s sacrifice fly scored the second run for the Jaspers\u00a0to slim the margin down to one.
\n\tDespite Estevez getting within scoring position in the final inning, back-to-back strikeout and flyout put a cap on the late session, with Mount St. Mary’s winning 3-2.

\n\tFreshman infielder Lainey Brown<\/a>, catcher Kendall Penny<\/a>, and Sophomore utility player Brianna Estevez<\/a> all notched a hit in both games.
\n\tJunior pitcher Karissa Spring<\/a> pitched all seven\u00a0innings in the opener for the Green and White, allowing just two earned runs off of seven hits and striking out two off of 117 pitches.
