A delivery truck blocked traffic between W 231st Street and Broadway Avenue after it slammed onto the subway underpass of the 1 train in Kingsbridge on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n
The eight-wheeler forced delays nearing three hours, according to residents. The stuck truck blocked buses from continuing on their normal route.<\/p>\n
“I don’t know how I’m going to reach Riverdale right now, because the main entrance is blocked off,” said one neighbor named Natalie.<\/p>\n
Bus drivers, police officers, and neighbors directed traffic to ease the stress of community members.<\/p>\n
The delivery truck driver, named Keith, remained at the scene. He told News 12, “it’s really stressful” driving in New York City. <\/p>\n
“I was stopped and then my guy that was following me behind me told me ‘you have to stop.’ So now we’re just here trying to find a solution and just take this out,” he said.<\/p>\n
Neighbors said this was not the first time an incident like this happened and causes distress in their community. <\/p>\n
