It\u2019s become <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/10\/30\/us\/politics\/trump-heaven-legacy.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a hallmark of his presidency<\/a>, to the point that the Treasury Department announced on Thursday that President Trump\u2019s signature <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2026\/03\/26\/us\/politics\/trump-signature-us-dollars.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">will appear on U.S. dollars later this year<\/a>, a first for a sitting U.S. president.<\/p>\n<p class=\"g-text g-body-text svelte-kxgec5 g-text_last\">The move is the latest reflecting a push to imprint his personal brand on Washington and the nation in ways that could outlast his presidency.<\/p>\n<p class=\"g-text g-body-text svelte-kxgec5 g-text_last\">In total, since the start of Mr. Trump\u2019s second term, there have been more than a dozen instances of his name, image or signature emblazoned on a variety of American initiatives and institutions. The move is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2026\/03\/19\/us\/politics\/trump-gold-coin.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">legally dubious<\/a>. It\u2019s also rare. Metro system <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/119th-congress\/house-bill\/3660\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">unless it renamed itself to honor Mr. Trump<\/a>.
