Drivers in the Bronx are feeling the pinch in their pockets, as gas prices are climbing. Some tell News 12 it’s already changing their daily routines.<\/p>\n
“I can’t even fill my tank up,” said Nas, a Bronx resident. “It’s hard out here.”<\/p>\n
Others say long, frequent trips are becoming unsustainable. Christian Estevez, who drives to Pennsylvania three times a week to visit family, says the rising cost is making those drives more difficult.<\/p>\n
“It’s expensive today,” he said.<\/p>\n
According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular gas in New York City is about $3.94, which is nearly a dollar higher than last month.<\/p>\n
Experts say ongoing tensions in the Middle East, including the war in Iran, are driving prices up.<\/p>\n
Some businesses are impacted, too. Jason Thomas runs Elite Lux Car Service. He told News 12 the rising cost of gas is coming out of his own pocket. <\/p>\n
“I don’t want my prices to go up to inconvenience the clients, but it does hurt my business,” Thomas said.<\/p>\n
