The upcoming Broadway bow of Schmigadoon!<\/a> is inviting fans to its\u00a0final invited dress performance later this week.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the first preview on April 4, fans will have the opportunity to attend the show\u2019s April 3\u00a0dress rehearsal at 7 PM at the Nederlander Theatre.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Tickets can be secured in the following ways:\u00a0Fans can sign up for Schmigadoon!\u2019s fan list at Schmigadoonbroadway.com<\/a>\u00a0to receive the link to enter the ticket lottery for the April 3 dress rehearsal. Up to 400 free tickets will be\u00a0offered via the digital lottery, powered by Broadway Direct. The lottery is now open for entries and will close April 2 at 10 AM. Winners will be notified via email, and will have the chance to claim one or two tickets.\u00a0Fans are also able\u00a0to participate in an in-person rush at the Nederlander box office, where up to 200 free tickets will be distributed April 3,\u00a0starting at 5 PM on a first-come, first-served basis.<\/p>\n

Now a stage musical, Schmigadoon! was first produced as a two-season Apple Original series. The Broadway version follows the plot of the show’s first season, which follows real-world couple Josh and Melissa as they find themselves in Brigadoon Schmigadoon, a mysterious and magical world populated with characters, plots, songs, and dance numbers plucked from Golden Age musicals like Oklahoma!, The Music Man, Carousel, and more. The adaptation\u2014which features a book, music, and lyrics by series creator Cinco Paul<\/a>\u2014includes all of the songs from the series’ Grammy-nominated score plus some new titles, including songs cut from the series.<\/p>\n

The cast includes Alex Brightman<\/a> (Beetlejuice) as Josh Skinner, Sara Chase<\/a> (The Great Gatsby) as Melissa Gimble, Max Clayton<\/a> (Chicago) as Danny Bailey, Ana Gasteyer<\/a> (Once Upon a Mattress, SNL) as Mildred Layton, Ann Harada<\/a> (Avenue Q) as Florence Menlove, Brad Oscar<\/a> (The Producers) as Mayor Menlove, Isabelle McCalla<\/a> (Water for Elephants) as Emma Tate, Maulik Pancholy<\/a> (It’s Only a Play) as The Reverend, Ayaan Diop<\/a> as Carson, Ivan Hernandez<\/a> (Dear Evan Hansen) as Doc, and McKenzie Kurtz<\/a> (Heathers) as Betsy. Brightman, Chase, Harada, Oscar, McCalla, and Kurtz are all reprising their work from the musical’s 2025 D.C. premiere. Harada also starred as Florence Menlove in the original series.<\/p>\n

Rounding out the company are ensemblists Afra Hines<\/a>, Becca Petersen<\/a>, Brandon Block<\/a>, Clyde Alves<\/a>, Jess LeProtto<\/a>, Joshua Burrage<\/a>, Kaleigh Cronin<\/a>, Keven Quillon<\/a>, Kimberly Immanuel<\/a>, Lauralyn McClelland<\/a>, Lyrica Woodruff<\/a>, Maria Briggs<\/a>, Miles McNicoll<\/a>, Nathan Lucrezio<\/a>, Richard Riaz Yoder<\/a>, Shina Ann Morris<\/a>, and Zachary Downer<\/a>. Casting is by The Telsey Office<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The work made its world premiere in 2025 at Washington, D.C.’s Kennedy Center, with series choreographer Christopher Gattelli<\/a> directing and choreographing. Gattelli is reprising his work on the Main Stem. See what critics had to say about the premiere run here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Schmigadoon!’s Broadway bow will feature set design by Scott Pask<\/a>, costume design by Linda Cho<\/a>, lighting design by Donald Holder<\/a>, sound design by Walter Trarbach<\/a>, and hair, wig, and makeup design by Tom Watson<\/a>. Pask, Cho, and Watson also designed the Kennedy Center staging.<\/p>\n

Schmigadoon! premiered on Apple TV+ in 2021, with a second season in 2023 that sent its characters to Schmicago, complete with parodies of ’70s musicals like Pippin, Godspell, and Sweeney Todd. Apple canceled the show’s third season while it was still in production, though Paul previously told Playbill <\/a>that his goal is to bring all three seasons of Schmigadoon to the stage.
