NYPD<\/p>\nA rideshare driver was carjacked at gunpoint by four masked goons after refusing to give them a ride in Lower Manhattan, cops and law enforcement sources said Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The 51-year-old driver was on break at around 1:30 a.m. March 23 when the strangers approached his Toyota Highlander SUV on Second Avenue near East 3rd Street in the Bowery and asked for a lift, authorities and sources said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
When he declined, one member of the crew flashed a gun and forced the victim out of his car, police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

They then took off in the SUV and drove it all the way to Newark, NJ, where it was recovered \u2014 but the carjacking quartet was nowhere to be found, cops said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The car had TLC plates, but it was not immediately clear whether the victim worked for a specific rideshare agency, the sources said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The driver did not report any injuries, police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Toyota was later recovered in Newark, NJ, but the suspects remain at large, police said. NYPD<\/p>\n
Police released video of the masked suspects with the hoods of their black sweatshirts pulled up, one carrying a backpack, as they entered a bodega.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
